Just wondering if anyone knows if you can do a torission bar twist on a '93 Explorer Sport 2WD.

Any info would help.

Thanks.

No you cannot. Torsion bars are only on explorers 1995 and after.

You can't...................but you can add F150 coil seats under your front coils for a cheap 1 5/8" lift.

Yeah, just add WAR153 shackles and coil seats.
I will be doing this to my '94 soon.

If you do lift the front, be prepared to dish out some money for the allignment, it's going to cost a good amount more than the normal allignment costs. Also be ready to buy and install new radius arm bushings, you should do this when you put the spacers/springs on if the RA bushings haven't been replaced in a few years. Just warning you not to do this if you only have enough money for the spacers like I did when I did mine :banghead:

I appreaciate the information. Hey rino351, I would like to know more about this 4" Trailmaster lift if you would be so kind as to tell me the specs on it. I have also seen a few people fabricate their own lifts by doing a SOA and then using spring buckets from a '79 Bronco. If anybody has any more info about lifting a '93 2WD Explorer Sport I would be very thankful!

The 4" trailmaster is for a four wheel drive explorer and it won't work with the front end of your two wheel drive explorer. Though companies do make suspension lifts for 2WD 1st gen explorers and rangers, I would recommend you think about how you are going to use this vehicle. Do you want it just to look lifted, or do you want it to function as a lifted 2WD prerunner type truck? I you answered looks good, I say go with a 3" body lift with lip covers and throw on the 31's or 32's for a nice look, if you said offroading prerunner, do some research and find yourself a high and flexy front that will suck up a huge bump at high speeds. Good luck man!

Ah, this particular Explorer will soon have a front axle. I am planning on building it up as big as humanly possible with custom work and whatnot. Got to go to Engineering school before this all happens though. Just wondering about different ways to lift a '93 Sport 2WD.

Thanks,

Well here's a link to some of the only 2wd lifts there are if you're looking to lift it in 2wd form for now. Chris G. has a thread somewhere on here about putting on his 4" 2wd lift, can't find it right now though.

I appreciate the link. Do you know what all I would have to purchase besides the kit? Do I have to buy brake lines and other stuff as well? Let me know if you find that link for Chris G's 2WD 4" lift.

Thanks a lot my man
