Question re: 95-97 aftermarket fogs

Has anyone been able to use the existing wiring harness to install after market fogs in the 95-97 factory locations? The following link is for some lights that say they include an "OE-style wiring harness". Does this mean it should fit the stock harness?

Has anyone measured the square holes in the airdam to see how big of a light would fit? I know the PIAA 1500 xt's fight, but I want to know the exact dimensions. If no one knows, I'll go out and measure them myself...just thought I would check.

I know this is an old topic, but I wanted to dig it up, since I was doing a search on getting myself some aftermarket fogs...

The factory harness will handle 55 watt lights. I have done this before with my Probe GT, which stock, uses the exact same lights as the Explorer and Escort GT. I ran PIAA 1500 XT's for years before selling the car, and not once did I blow a fuse or a relay. They will handle it. I will be doing the same soon with the Ex.

When you run an aftermarket harness to your aftermarket lights you get 14+ volts to the bulbs. The Ford OEM harness will get you about 12 volts to the bulbs. The difference in brightness is really noticable.
Yes you "can" do it but why would you want to put in lights that are not much brighter than what your replaceing?

Actually, when repalcing them, I was only looking for a stock replacement, seeing as how my stock ones were all hazed over and weren't bright at all...

Whenever I get lights for offroad use, they will go behind the grill.

my dad's been running 50watt bulb's in his stock fog's for along time now..not a problem..i used a relay on my aftermarket fog's cause they are 55W..but i would have been fine IMO with just using stock wiring..other's will tell you different but..whatever
