1999 ford explorer
ok - so new to this -
Mine Is a 99 plain jane Ford Explorer -
Currently have 420,000 miles on this engine (still running - we are rebuilding) and have a 95 (that's from the block) same engine - well sort of as we discovered -
Everything will fit - with one difference - the 95 engine has 2 fuel lines and the 99 has one - Will changing it t 1 fuel line matter ?
We are using the original wiring harness from the 99

The single fuel line version does not have a return line, because in 99+ models the pressure is regulated by the PCM adjusting the pump voltage, and there is no external regulator. I also believe that the regulated pressure is much higher than in the 95, so you'll need to keep the 99 injectors. Not sure about other issues -- if any.

OK so if we use the 99 injectors and replace the O-rings - and use the fuel rail from the 99 - everything else seems to be the same - it should work ?

Well that would be a problem
The sensors are different
What model years would work for a swap ?

using the 1999 synchronizer

Maybe the 1999 synchronizer will fit in the 1995 block. I remember snoranger and I discussed this a while back but I can't remember the specifics (senior moment I guess). I was going to build an electronic converter from one type to the other but never did. I'll search for the thread.

I didn't find the thread I was looking for but this one answers your question: 1995 Explorer 4.0 cam position sensor/synchronizer.

Yes I guess that does thanks
Sometimes you get what you pay for
I just want my 99 back on the road
It has 420,000 original mile with no work and still running actually well
Just want to do a switch and rebuild the original engine
Found a vin X out if a 99 so we will just sell the 95 engine or 96 I guess it is
Block had 95 but mine had 98 so guessing
Such is life
Love my explorer
Thanks for your input
