Yep yr exactly right... but more then a couple grand I'm thinking upward 10 grand. You can get that thing cheaper (i bought mine for $190 from summitracing.com)
shoot, look for a used one. i mean its gonna give ya more power, but the next week you are going to want more.
Nothing will get that v6 to move any faster then swapped in v8 haha hate to sound like a cliché but I've tried hard to make my v6 quick. It just doesn’t happen, no matter how much money you throw at it.
Basically, you can spend 3-10k on swapping in a 302 from a wrecked v8 explorer (which would be really cool, OBD-2 and gt-40 heads... the list goes on for the benefits of that one)
or you can spend 3-10k for ported/polished heads and intake, a block over bore, some borla headers, 24lb injectors, a 422 or 410 comp cam... blah blah blah and still only have as much power as a STOCK v8
Maximum Violence has TONS of crap done, and still is only pumping out ~200 hp... hes got a super charger and all kinds of crap
Once my v6 busts (which it will take a time, I mean these things are reliable and down right last forever) I’m probably going to be thinking about a 302. It’s just more practical. More power for the money, and down right SATISFYING
