- 2004 XLT 4.6 xlt
My 2004 XLT V8 has the EGR code. I took it off and it seems very stuck.
Symptoms are a slight power shimmy if accelerate normally. But no shimmy if i drive it hard.
Also getting worse-than-usual MPG, like 13. I drive a 25 mile commute with no hills and almost no draffic.
The EGR for this car (4.6 L, 2004-2005 ONLY) is $120 or so and i am on a tight savings plan (a trip to Ethiopia this summer)
So, my quesiton is, if i just block the opening, will the performance improve?
How and why do people do a proper EGR delete?
thanks
