Im new to modifying 4x4s and was wondering how lifting my explorer could hurt stability. And what is the easiest/cheapest way to lift a 95 explorer about 4".

Welcome to the site,
With the 95-97 model, your options are limited..
You can customize a Ranger body lift, do a TT and shackle..That is about it to achieve 4"...
Try a search, this has been covered many times.
I have my 91 2 dr lifted 7.5" and it is very stable. Thing you have to remember, as you go up, your tires need to go out. Good Luck.

thanks

what exactly do i need to do to modify the ranger lift for my explorer. and...will 33" tires fit with the TT/shackles, and 3" body lift(i dont do much offroading and when i do it isnt harcore stuff)?

Sorry, I remember reading it some place, but don't remember the details. I'm sure they would fit. We have a member with a 95 with 32's that has only done the TT and shackles..He had to do some trimming in the fenderwell, but nothing major.

you could opt for the 4" rear trailmaster spring and the 3" front spindle from ProComp... then do about a 1.25" Torsion Twist... it should hold 33's heigh wise... but I think there will be some rubbing on the sway bars at full lock with 12.50's... u might want to look into some 33x11.50

thanks for the responses, as of now i am planning on doin the TT/shackles, and the 3" body lift, with 33x11.50 tires.

i havent done any work on cars or trucks and was wondering if doing the lift with the help of a couple of my friends would be too difficult.

also, where is the cheapest place to buy tires and wheels?

one more thing...i know with the ranger lift you need parts from 2 different kits...can somebody please explain which parts i need from each kit?
