ok back about may off last yeat i had an accident in which the front driver side of my car touched(destroyed)another ladies car(ford tempo, taurus something) her car was considerd a total, while mine had under $300 damage, all i had to replace was driver side fender and lights(headlight, blinker, and reflecter, plus plastic crome trime) well ever since then i was having some problems with the front wheels locking so i went and got another set off auto hubs and for sure the passenger side is locking but the driver side isn't, now i was thinking that one possibility could be that its a limited slip in the front end so they wouldn't both lock at the same time or something but i mean sometimes it wouldn't lock(driverside that is ), i was thinking that maybe when i had my accident that it could be a possibility that my axle could be stuck indside the front differential?? could that be a possiblity??

well i had that problem, auto hubs would work, quit, one would and the other wouldnt lock in, check out the manual hubs, their the best...but remember to get the conversion from auto to manual hubs.

Yeah, stock auto hubs are garbage, do yourself a favor and get some manual locking hubs. Also your truck doesn't have front limited slip explorers never came stock with front limited slip.

hey thanks for the info yeah jsut which hubs to get now!! i heard everyone talking about warn?? what other brands are out there?? and prices with the conversion kit???

suggestion

hey there~
I don't know much about 4X4-ing, but my mom's F 150 has front WARN hubs on it that were upgraded from the factory automatic ones. From what I hear, the warn ones are great. I've tried the 4X4 on several occasions of normal driving and they work beautifully. haven't had a chance to try them in an off-the-road environment, considering it's my mom's truck... ::evil snicker::

have a good one, I give one idea of the warn ones

see ya

There is warn, milemarker and stock ford. I BELEIVE they're actually all made by warn though.

ok but pricing i mean what are the complete price i am looking at with the hubs and the coversion kit?

Not really sure my truck doesnt have autohubs, look around online im sure you'll find them.

Im not sure where your located, but you can get the warn manual hubs from Advance auto. Im not sure on the pricing. With the conversion kit and hubs I think its somewhere around $150-175. On my old truck (rodeo) it had auto hubs, i blew those up and put on a set of warn premiums and it was like night and day. Best money I think i ever spent on it.
