A buddy of mine wants to lift his 91 explorer but doesn't know what he wants so I'm trying to help him out. Sounds like most of you guys have the Duff 2.5" lift. Where do you guys get this lift and how much does it cost. Also some good web sites would help us out alot. Thanks in advance!!!!

This is a discussion that is on going and there are many threads on the subject. Have you tried the search function? Many of the people who answer this question have answered it many other times.

Post like that will get you nowhere here, you can always go back to the riceburner board!!:frustrate

Just wanted some good websites look at so we can figure out what kind of lift to get him. Didn't think it would be a big deal. You guys are the ones with the experience buying parts for your exploders, so I figured I would ask the experts. Well apparently the experts were to busy to answer a few questions. Sorry for bothering the "elite" explorers. BTW, I may have a so called rice burner but it will outlast your ford anyday:D

If answers is what you want, then ask away, but calling this board pathetic is not the way, out last me? I doubt it, but you are more than welcome to try, btw, my ford is hitting 180,000 miles, all original.

So what does he want 2-4-6-8 inch lift? price range? body or suspension? extended radius arms? Mild or wild?

Well I'm pushing 240k on mine and still kickin. So other than the site listed above (way over charge for shipping) what are some other good sites for lifts. And were do I find this duff lift and approx how much? Thanks

Okay,
2 1/2 inch lift offered by several companies, 1- rancho has one, runs about 800 bucks, 2- James Duff also has same lift, price I am not sure, they have thier own web site, both of these come with extended radius arms for better travel. I have found it easier to go thru desert rat, then 4wheelparts, they pissed me off. Skyjacker also offers a 2 inch lift for around 200 bucks.

okay hold on. 4 inch it is.

A four inch lift averages in price around seven hundred bucks, Trail master, Rough country, Tuff country, Superlift, or Skyjacker. I would go skyjacker, they are well built, you can order from several different distributors for that. Rough country is probably going to be the best in price at 670.00's shocks included. Now, you can also go with f-150 coil seats, and warrior shackles with a three inch body lift that will give you 4 inches for under 250.00's.

4wheelparts pissed me off too, they tried to send me some items that weighed 16lbs and they want to charge me $48 for it. They said the best they could do was knock $5 off the price. I told them to cancel my order and I would find it somewhere else, which I did. Also thanks for the help! I will check this when I wake up. Its 3:30am here and I'm beat.

NTWonline.com, 4wheelparts.com, rockymountiansusp.com, desertrat.com

First of all any lift kit with springs and all that steel is not going to be cheap to ship from anywhere. The only way around shipping is to get it at a local store and pay their utrageous prices. I can't knock 4 wheel parts, they have treated me right, especciall ythe store here in town.

you might keep an eye on the for sale threads, there are a few first gens going SAS and might be seling the lifts, also check ebay (probably won't find much).

Let me rephrase my 4 wheel parts experience, what I have ordered I received in short time, last sat. I called for prices, and also had the part no's. for the person I was talking to, thru out the conversation I got the impression that I was putting him out, and his attitude is what pissed me off. I called Desert rat, and their prices were close, and a little less on some items, they were much more interested in what I was wanting, to me customer service is a big issue.

Try Kyle (I think that is his name) at the store in Memphis and tell him you are from this board. He'll treat you very well. And give you a discount.

my dealings with 4 wheel parts has been decent so far. I just ordered their six inch superlift kit and they will be installing it on the 28 & 29th. I dealt mainly with Elliot and Bradon. Just cause thats always who i talk to. Give me a decent deal on all of it and we will see how it looks on wed. I'm hoping for the best.
