regarding my 99 ex(square fog lights)
1;can you get an after market wood trim kit for the ex ?

2:i have been recommended to change the plugs and lead after my latest lpg diagnostic check. i have been quoted 250 quid for platinum plugs and some high quality leads(magnecor) this includes 40 quid to fit the plugs !!!!!!! are they that difficult to change ?

3:can you get a performance exhaust/or just one to make the v6 sound a bit more throaty ?

I'll do my best.

1. No one makes a timber add on kit for our x's (RHD) There are some for LHD but many of the pieces will not fit as they have a different console arrangement.

2. That sound expensive. They are all ok except # 4 under the air con compressor which is a pain to get to.

3. None available off the shelf but you can get an imported one. The exhaust systems are the same as USA.

The north face has a wood dash trim, find someone who's breaking one... straight swap.

There's an importer in Golborne, Lancs that sells stuff for the explorer

email them and ask for a catalogue., they're not cheap though.

Hi darklord.

I cut off my rear silencer and welded up some 2 3/4" pipe to go over the axle and exit to the side of the rear bumper. I must take some photos. It took about a day to complete.

You can hear a slight difference whilst driving, but open the window a bit and...mmmmm....very nice. Not excessivly loud, but nice deep mellow sound.

If you dont want the hassle of making up a new rear pipe, just try cutting out the rear silencer and replace it with a straight piece instead.

My car passed the MOT with it like this.

Cheers Kev.
