Quick cupholder mod for fun

So tonight, as usual I was bored, and as usual I had to take somethin off my truck and fart around with it.

I took the whole center console off, in a matter of 5 minutes, I needed to JB the Armrest back onto where it mounts, it snapped when the previous owner had it, so im just now fixing that.

So i took the center console off, and took it all apart, cleaned it, it was pretty nasty, and I found like 3 red LEDs laying in the garage, so I thought it would be cool to put them in the cup holder, so I did, it took me about another 5 mins to do, I just gotta run a wire to power them, ill do that tomorrow after school.

Heres a few pics, (sorry theyre from my BlackBerry so they suck lol)

This is before I put it back together, and im powering them off a desk light, so theyre only at about 7v, so not all the way lit up.

I think im gonna paint the whole center console black, its like tan right now, what do you guys think?

Ok Kinda Cool I guess. Are they annoying while driving? Guess it would be ok to see the cup holder at night.

i could really use a light in the square pocket. i would wire it to the ignition so when truck is on its on. it would have to be more of a glow. do you know how hard it is to find a lighter at 70mph in the dark while holding a cup of coffee since on cup holder has my ashtray in it and the otherone is always full of useless junk.

most of the newer ford models have those from the factory, and you can change the color, aswell as the foot areas....

i did this in my 05 mazda6 using blue led's. its something the 6 guys do alot

take a pic with a bottle of water there at night! you need to show them how it makes bottles glow. lol
