Quick help please front tie rod

Hey all,
i have a bad inner tie rod. I took off th eouter tie rods already but i can;t get the boots off for th einner ones let alone get the rod out. Has anyone done this? The Haynes says to remove the whole rack assemble...isn;t there a way around this? Please advise!

You will need to get those boots off. A wire snipper should cut the metal strap.

No I don;t Apperalty i am off to auto zone to get the special tool to take off the inner tie rod? I was not aware of it and was told it would help. I shall return soon

The wire strap that holds the boots on can be removed by sticking a screwdriver under and prying it up. Its kind of a chore, but possible. You can reuse the clamp if you are careful.

The inner tie rod can be removed with a pipe wrench with the rack all the way to that side, that worked for me.
