I'm getting an AAL to go with my shakles. The shakles raised the rear to about 1/2" above origonal factory (they were sagging pretty bad). I plan on getting about another 1-1.5" from the AAL. Will i need to get a longer sway bar? I figure i should do this the same time i put in the AAL.

I already did a search and got conflicting advice.

I'm not doing any serious rock crawling, so i'm not that worried about a Quick disconnect for the sway bars.

i have shackles and 2 AAl's and a stock swaybar, i would just keep the stock one becuase it worked for me

I don't know what you mean about a 'longer' swaybar? I have an EE swaybar that is BEEFIER than the stock bar...but not 'longer'. I also put in the Energy Suspension Poly bushings...just fine for me! Makes for a stiffer/more responsive ride!

The stock sway bar will simply pivot downwards to compensate for the extra height. I ditched my rear sway bar altogether. I have sightly more body roll, but makes the rear ride a lot better, and its definately something you want to consider if you're installing an AAL.

I may eventually do a quick disconnect for it, but i'm not at that point yet. I figure if i need to do that, i'll do it when i add a locker.

How much more roll are you experiencing ??

I had an EE bar before, which stiffens the rear quite a bit. I noticed the increased sway when I first took it off, but now I don't notice.
