hey guys, sorry to keep posting but im sorta new and i've got a lot of questions

i have a 4.0 with a flowmaster 40 series muffler. i ran the muffler for a little bit without any piping after it. it was very, very loud. now i piped it back to the axle but its a lot quieter. i liked having it quiet for a little bit but now i miss that sweet sound. i dodn't want to have the fumes dumped under the car but i want some more sound.

so what do u guys suggest i do?

What size piping are you running from the muffler back?

You could increase the size of the tail pipe if you want more volume and growl.

Use a large exhaust tip that isn't resonanted. Something with a 3-3.5" tip would look nice, should make it a little louder.

do something with your cats.. that would do a lot. i assume u took that resonator out? do that if not. also, the more bends the better for the sound typically.. but yeah go bigger after the muffler, i wouldnt suggest jumpin up to big if the outlet is small. but if you got a muffler with a larger outlet then ran that size pipe could help. alos..air intake..more air in more out!

my system is a high flow cat, all cats resonators gone besides that, a flowmaster 40 series, 2.5in in and out 2.5 all back to the right rear. has a great growl for what it is. i used to run a 40 series with stock cats and just a turndown after it. it did sounds pretty good, but this new system has a way better growl (mostly attributed to the cat im sure)

I thought you cant run it without cats? Some one said on the forum that there isnt enough back pressure.

im runing stock cats with 2.25" piping. thats what fit the muffler. i would have done bigger if i would have known.

i'm planning on replaceing the cats with a single anyways so should that help?

oh and i have no resonator.
