i thought most cops use the "point and click" radar now.
they wait till they have a clear shot of your car, then zap.
that's why i haven't bought a detector yet. if they fiqure out a way of detecting radar when not in use, that'll be great.

"Instant On" aka point and click is only on a few radar guns. The most popular instant on radar is the stalker which uses the a very fast randar band Ka. Only the new Crown Vic's have it. A radar detector will pick up instant on, although you only have 5 seconds to slow down.
