radiator leak ( around trans lines)

the radiator is leaking from where the trans lins come in
I never had to deal with this before
so what is the fix

I am having the same problem with a new radiator. Make sure the lines are secure. If it is tranny fluid leaking take out the hard line & teflon tape the last half of the threads. If radiator fluid is leaking like mine its probably time for a new radiator. Unfortunately the tanks are plastic. You can also have it pressured tested to see exactly where the leak is.

If anti freeze is leaking around the tranny line (not tranny fluid) the only fix is to replace the Radiator. You would have to replace it even if it didn't have plastic tanks (the radiator on our '63 galaxie leaked in the same place as the radiator on our X)

Maybe this is similar to my problem... I just got a new radiator a week ago. Since then, I have been leaking tranny fluid from up front. It's splattered all over from blowin around while driving, so I cant seem to pin point it... I replaced the rubber tube between the lil cooler and the metal lines, but I believe there are lines that also go into the radiator itself.. It goes back in friday, but maybe y'all can tell me what's up. A side note, the same shop did my buddys Jeep, and it too is leaking tranny fluid in a similar fashon.

The shop might have not tefloned taped or tightened the 2 hard lines going into the radiator. Or like mine the aftermarket radiator is a pos. If neither of the above is wrong it probably was a bad radiator from the factory.
