After 20 years and 173,000 miles, the radiator finally bit the dust. Anyone care to recommend a good brand? This is for a 5.0L engine. Thanks!

Do your homework and look closely at the one installed at the moment to make sure you get the right one, make sure the measurements given in the description of the new radiator is exactly the same as the one you want to replace it with, this will ensure your fan shroud and cooler lines fit without problems. It is also a good idea to get new upper and lower hose too while your at it, if they have not been changed recently, also, dont forget new coolant and distilled water.

Thank you both! Seems that Spectra Premium is the way to go, unless one wants to spend $500 on a Motorcraft-branded radiator - which may not be any better.

Go with the Spectra.
My 99 5.0L AWD came stock with a single row radiator. I installed a new Spectra CU 1824 radiator in 2014. That one was a two row.
My Explorer has ZERO issues keeping its cool. That radiator is quite large.

Good Luck!

I think that's the aftermarket unit that came in my donor explorer. Definitely seems like a quality part, and yes - it's huge.
