I just bought one from Amazon for $44.57, free shipping. It should be here next Monday.

Looking forward to seeing the display on the 99 Mounty I bought last week.

i hope you have better luck with it than i did.

question: do you recall, when your display was out did your buttons light up?

My display is out and my buttons light up correctly. Hope this helps.

yes, it helps. my buttons don't light up either. maybe that's why the Dorman power board didn't fix my display. there must be something else wrong with my radio. - thanks.

Let me know if it works.

I paid for a repair by one of the people offering the service via this site. "Lifetime" warranty apparently means for the life of the repair. It died after 3 weeks and the "service" would not respond to my e-mails so buyer beware. And no I won't name them.

I purchased the dorman replacement from Rock Auto for just under $50 so I'll see how long it lasts.

Did you install the new Dorman board yet?

Yeah it's amazing how something so simple can brighten your day.

(Yeah I know, I need to get a life!)

It works! I have the MACH system without the CD changer. There's a lot of info on that little display, no wonder it takes so much power to fire it up.

It took a little longer to get here but you can't complain about free shipping this close to the holidays.

Replaced the power board today in my 01 EB with the Dorman part 586-001. Bought it on Amazon for $60. Thanks to EBranning2012's write up, the install went smooth as silk. Display works now, and I'm a happy Explorer Forum member. BTW, I'm a grandpa, too!

Glad everything works!!!!

Really silly question. How do I know which unit I have? It is a cd unit, no clue on sw or if it has a cd changer. We never tried more than one disc in.....

Oh and my buttons light up

if you have a CD changer it's a large box taking up about 1/2 the room in your console. there's a magazine inside of it that holds up tp 6 CD's. pull the radio out of the dash and there will be a sticker on it with the part number on the back of it. the power board is for the MACH radio, which usually has the CD changer, steering wheel mounted controls and the sub in the rear of the cargo area.

Mine looks the same as cbranning. No sub in the trunk and no magazine of CD's. I took a chance and ordered the board from amazon, I can always return it :)

Will let people know how it works. I will also post up my model number to help others out.

Thanks

The Dorman power supply board will also work with the premium radio. If you pull the radio from out of your dash. On the bottom there will be a sticker that will tell you if it is a premium, Mach or a basic stereo.

Got the board installed, took all of 5 minutes, including pulling it out and putting it back in. Have the Mach radio. Thanks for the part number, I was going to just live with it.

So...... how do I set the time?

i'm going from memory, but.... (with ignition key on & the radio off) on the right side of the radio face, about half way down, there should be 2 small buttons. one says RDS and the one right under it has a clock face on it. press the clock face button once and it should say HOUR on the display. press it a second time and it should say MINUTE on the display. use the SELECT buttons to set the time.

if you have your owner's manual, it tells you have to do it.

Got it, thanks.

Do not have the manual....
