1995 explorer xlt 4x4
Hi everybody! I am new here so i belive i might be in the right spot.

So i bought a used 95 explorer xlt ( which i love but its a private party so its as is) but the stock dolby stereo isnt working! It will turn on and all the buttons and functiins seem to work fine except i am not getting any sound. Just dead silence! I am not sure if it has a factory amp with this model or not. I have the 6 disc changer in my center cons. Which that doesnt seem to work at all. No lights on or anything! I do see a cd that was in there prior to me buying it, but when i press eject, nothing happens. So im not sure if its broke or not getting power disconnected or if it has something to do with the stereo not giving out sound or the speakers not giving or receiving sound. And the head unit does look to function properly but when i select the cd option it says no cd! Hmmmm. (Scratching my head) the rear controls also seem to function properly with the volume amd channel buttons! I plugged in a working pair of headphones into each 3.5mm inputs and still did not get any sound! I removed the headunit and everything was plugged in from behind it. I havent removed the 6 disc changer yet. Because im not to sure how to yet an not certain if thats even playing a roll in this case being that am/fm should let me hear sound. I am wondering if its possible the prior owners installed an aftermarket deck and re-installed the factory unit to before selling this vehicle and maybe something happened along the way or what. Thats just a thought is there a way to tell or how do i go about fixing this issue. I did remove the R.R. door panel as thinking there isnt any speakers or maybe they arent connected. But there is a 5x8 factory speaker in that door with the harness to the window switch installed.it does look like electric tape wrapped around it too.(so it may have been spliced into or ia that from the factory? Its kinda hard to tell as its not really done sloppy) So i didnt remove the other door panels thinking that atleast that speaker should produce sound if its connected. Or is that not true with this design as. do all speakers need to be connected and should i remove the other door panels to check or should this one atleast let me know its good or not! Please any help will be very much appreciated and i hope i came smd posted in the right spot. If i did not than please direct me where i can do that! Im pretty decent when needing to do any motor work or repairs but when it comes to electrical i am usually scratching my head on what to do? Hopefully this is something fairy quick and easy but fyi I do not own any electrical testers or ohm readers or tools like that so im crossing my fingers that i will not need one as i have been laid off due to covid-19 and veeeeerry low on funds especially after needing to buy this vehicle since my last one was totaled!
Thank you every body for sny time and info of yours thst you share with me.

I have the same factory radio set up with the cd changer in the console, and controls for the rear passangers. The sound went out in mine also, it turned out the be the blue wire that goes to the amplifier located in the cargo area, the blue wire no longer sends the signal to the amp to turn "on", hence no sound from the speakers. WHat I did was upgrade the amplifier (cruchfield), and used the "acc +12v" to tturn the amp "on" when the radio is turned on, it also gives MUCH better sound to even the factory speakers that I still have.
I am not saying this is your problem, but you may want to check to make sure the amp is turning on when the radio tells it to!

How do i go about seeing if the amp is powering on? Like as in will there be a light that comes on or any kind of power indicater. And to remove the cargo panel do i just remove the round plastic i guess body clips or pins. And pull off the panel. Or does thr carpet need to be pulled any. ? Thank you for this help
