Ram Air Hood

I like the ram induction on your truck - looks mean. Under what conditions do you think its better to run the plugs in the scoops?

it has to be plugged if it rains or 4x4 it sits very close to my filter.also i wouldn't want water pouring on my hot motor

Looks sweet , Great work !! , Not sure if anybody asked , but what kind of scoops are those , they look very familiar

how much time do you have in hood? and where did you get the plugs?

A TON OF TIME:mad:i made a big mistake and left the 3m tape on it,even though they are riveted, fiber glassed and glued now.they have cracked again!!:mad:i did they whole thing without glue and had it primed and wet sanded and was letting it dry and it cracked.so i sanded it down and ran a bead of glue around the inside.primed and painted it and 3 days later in the sun it cracked again.the 3m tape is letting it move with heat cycles and cracking the bondo and paint.i need to redo it and NOT use the tape and glue them directly to the hood, rivet them and then fiber glass them!!this really pisses me off!!:mad:besides that they work and look great.the pipe is toilet flanges and the plugs are test plugs, both from home depot

Just a Rough Idea , But Would You Have a cost Of Materials used Minus Paint , i'm thinking Of Doing Something Similar , But unsure how i want To Mount To The Hood As You Were saying The 3m tape Causes Problems So I Will Keep That In Mind

in just the scoops and bondo maybe a $120.scoops was like $70,1 can of bondo glass, can of regular bondo and small stuff like rivets/glue,maybe little more if you use the flanges and plugs.as long as you dont use that tape you should be fine.glue it,rivet it,glass it and bondo it and you should be good.im not a body work man at ALL though,i can paint but have found a new found respect for body men

ok thanks , just wondering what to expect before i go to the extent of buying the scoops and what not , would love to just buy a hood like yours or even a fiberglass Cowl induction hood , Just to make it easier on me instead of having a headache like you did with the Cracking problems
