i feel stupid just asking this question, but i have spent easily an hour trying to find out if i can simply just buy these shocks anywhere, im going to end up with a 3inch lift and i was also wondering if i have to specify for the shocks that i have a 3inch lift or what not or if i have to specify that i have an explorer

Dude, I just bought my Rancho5000's at Sears. They were fairy priced (about $180 for a set of 4). The guy I dealt with at Sears automotive broke out a book that specified what kind of 5000's you'd have to get if you were lifting....Just FYI, I'm doing a TT/Shackle/AAL lift to start out with and from what I've gathered, the shock length won't be a problem unless I go higher...hope this helps.
