Hello, I have not posted here for a while, but have had some recent problems and decided to ask you guys for help.
I have a 1995 XLT 4x4. The other day I started my car, and was backing up while turning the wheel. There were some clunking sounds that sounded like the power steering. I thought nothing of it and continued my drive home. As I made a left turn out of a light, my steering stopped at a half turn. I then made the turn and my car shut off. I went to a side road to stop and as I was costing i tried starting my car back up and it worked. I pulled over, cut it off then back on. then it cut off. I let it sit for aprx. 30 minutes and started it back up. It started up okay but a little slow, and i drove home. Now it is running fine and the noises are no more. Any ideas as to what happend? Could possibly a bad power steering pump cause this, as well as a complete car shut off? Thanks
