ok ppl. lol.

i got a 92 ranger xlt and i put in a 94 explorer cluster w/ tach. I had to repin my existing harness for everything to work, which everything does EXCEPT the fuel gauge. Can anyone tell me what i have to do to get it to work? I see that the explorer cluster has a resistor on the Fuel signal after the circuit board where my ranger has no resistor. Are the senders different? Can I have a bad ground wire? I've tried alot of stuff ( I forget exactly what, but i have) and im running out of ideas short of getting an autometer gauge w/ a new sender. I tried taking an OHM reading from it but i got 0 ohms. which is bull crap. Can anyone tell me how to take a correct ohm reading? Thanks

Zack

Wow, I can't help at all, sorry! But out of curiosity, why did you do the swap, to gain the tach? Or are there other differences, too?

P.S. Welcome to the site!

i did it so i could have a tach, thats all. The speedo seems better b/c it moves alot more, it has "less resistance". I'm about to just get an aftermarket sensor, but that costs $30 and if I need the sender, its another $30 and you have to drop the tank.
