my 95 4 door 2wd explorer has a rattling clicking sound comming from the engine comp. as the rpms increase the rattle gets faster. it only has 65,000 miles on it. it does have a 3 inch body and the torsion bars cranked with 33 12.50's. any clue on what it could be?

thanks in advance
Jeff

Sounds like it could be your EGR valve.

I had the same thing going on and come to find out, my motor mounts were looses. The rattling was the brackets shaking back and forth! That may or may not help, but you never know...

were you able to tighten the motor mounts your self, if so where were they and how hard was it?

if you had it done by a shop what did they charge you

i get a slight rattleing sound from the passenger side when at idle, maybe this is the problem.

Actually what happened is that at first I thought they were broken, because I had tried to tighten them and the bolt and nut both turned. So I went and bought new ones and had a local shop put them in, and halfway through they called me and come to find out that they were not broken, it was a bolt that went all the way through the mount and I did not have a hold of the head. I figured that the mount had a bolt thread mounted to it, like the bolt thread attached to the body for your seat belts, but it was not, it was a whole bolt. You should be able to do it yourself, you may have to crawl and contort your body, but I am pretty sure it can be done!
