Rattle under driver side

So I posted one thread and not much luck but now I talked to a mech and Im not sure if he knows whats wrong and dont want to shell a ton of cash out before I do more research. I have a rattle only when driving. None when in park even when revving the engine. I have an 02 sport trac with 70k miles on it. The mech said my torque converter was bad. I dont have any shifting or accelerating problems just the rattle. It does idle a little low and shaky. If there was a problem with the torque converter would there be any other symptoms. Any help would be great.

I have 212k miles on my '01. Everything rattles. =)

Unlikely your issue, but sway bar end links and lower ball joints are usually the first things to fail on the ST.
Also check your cat heat shields. If not, unload the suspension by lifting the wheels and inspect everything.
