Thats a piece of art. Wow that would be nice. . . everything is carefully redesigned for more wheel travel. Dual reservoir shocks. . .not to mention Coil Overs. . .<drool>

That price would double if not triple for a 4wd setup like that though. . .

GO OFF ROAD

Your signature mentions a Power Trax No-Slip in the front end. What front end does your truck have? I'd like to put one of these in my 95 if they have one to fit. I already have one in the rear diff. Easy install.

EXPLORGM

Yes they have one and its not too bad to install it but the 95 Explorer dose not have a full time 4x4 that may be a problem but the thing that is cool with your front diff. you have that axel disconect that would work out great.

Desert spive,

I would say defenetly go with the coil over kit. remember how many times you hit bottom out at truck haven? even with the lift you still will cause there is no increase in ground clearance with the dropped t-bars. Also even for the high speed desert stuff and sand dune stuff you have to worry about your break over angle. that will cause you get hung up as well. I have wheeled with Ray and he is always hitting the t-bars you should see the guard he has on there to prtect them.

Yeah after Truckhaven I have been considering the c/o kit again. It depends on the questions to a couple of my concerns and how much more the overall cost is...along with how often the shocks need to be rebuilt.

Good question Sean, I would also like to know this answer.

Ok does that thing in the back of the kit mount to the torsion bar brackets?

Also, is there any word as to whether the kit (coilover or torsion bar), will work with a 95-97 without messing with the torsion bar brackets?

The silver bars behind the front end are strut arms. They keep the front end from moving laterally and they will only be on the c/o kit. You don't need them on the t-bar kit because the t-bars locate the front end. But yes, part of the T-bar bracket is cut away, but the crossmember portion stays. A new bracket bolts to the crossmember, and thats where the strut bars attach. If you don't want to mess with the t-bar brackets, you will need to get the t-bar lift, which lowers the bracket, but doesn't alter it's design.

Also, I will be giving RCD my monthly call this week. Any specific questions anybody has? I'll be sure to ask about the shocks.

It would be nice to know how they're planing on lifting the rear in the Explorer lift if that hasn't been answered yet.
And the only other question is WHEN, WHEN, WHEN? . . . :bounce: :bounce: j/k

I called my guy at RCD today and got some good info. the kit is still on schedule for a late March/early April release. They recommend recharging the c/o shocks about every 18months for most drivers (90%+ pavement, 10%- dirt). Other than that, he told me to call him back for an update in about two weeks, so post if you have any more questions. The only thing I forgot to ask about was if the turning radius is the same.

From what I hear they arent making anything for us per say. we would have to use superlift 5.5" SOA kit or new lifted springs.... and then trade in the rear shocks that come with it for the ranger.... to get ones that fit our application.

Ok so are the shocks RCD/BILSTIEN factory rebuildable only? or can you take it to a motorcycle shop or whatever and have them do it..

They are regualr rebuilable Bilsteins shocks, so they should rebuildable by anyone with parts and know how.

Does anyone know how the IFS on the Explorer compares with the IFS on a Toyota or other brands. Does the Explorer have that much less , if any, stock wheel travel?

I think IFS with cv joints is terrible in the wheel travel department with any manufacturer out there.

Anyone know the wheel travel specs on the Jeep Liberty? This is the only vehicle I can think of that claims good wheel travel from IFS.

ive been asking that question forever. but i always get the answer well not much for SLA or it sucks blah blah blah. Id bet id get more travel by removing the front sway bar links. But only have done the rear so far. I wonder if the RCD links are easy to remove?

i have about as much wheel travel as my friend's tacoma. ive heard great things about the liberty but i cant imagine that it has too much travel. i disconnect my front sway bars when off road and that increases the wheel travel some. i keep there rear disconnected unless i know im going to be towing something.

i would love to see that RCD system at work/play i can only imagine how awesome the performance would be.
