Hi I was Looking to pull my race car ( about 4500 lbs car & trailer) and I'm woundering what mods to do to the trans (auto) transfercase and rearend that I would need to do as I have pulled it afew times and it works out great but over time I don't know if the rearend will last pulling this type of weight for the long haul!!! If some one has done the same sort of thing with theres and could help me out that would be great!!! I was thinking that I'll have to change out my rearend for one out of a fullsize or something
Thanks

I wouldn't really worry about the axle it is made pretty good. The only thing you really really have to worry about is the tranny. I have heard too many stories of the tranny boiling over or going out on someone while they are towing something. Best bet is to get an extra tranny cooler if you don't already have one.

Check to see what gear you have (see code on door and owner manual) and if you have a transmission cooler. It's a little cooler in front of your radiator.

If you have 3.73 gears with the limited slip and the transmission cooler, you should be ok with towing. If you don't have a transmission cooler, you can buy one at any auto parts store and install it.

If you want to improve the towing performance, you could always change gear ratios to something lower, something like 4.10 will probably work out best towing and highway cruising. But this cost a lot more money (over $1k, parts & labor).

u definately don't need to chang out axles the 31 spline 8.8 is what comes in the full size trucks..........why do u think so many jeepers want them
