this is gonna be kind of a long post but i'll try and keep it short and to the point..
My truck was vibrating really bad while driving, turned out the rear diff was shot, the drive shaft had alot of play in it, and also the rear wheel bearings were gone so i had it all fixed, they put a used rear diff on it from an explorer that only had like 15k on it, saved me a ton of money while still coming with a 1 year/12,000 mile warranty ...so i go first thing saturday morning to pick up my truck, cuz they got it finished friday night..gave them a measly $1400 dollars and left..everything sounded fine and drove like brand new....about 6 miles later all that changes and it feels like it's dragging and making crazy clunking noises so i park call ford they come tow it, i ride in the tow truck back to ford..me and said mechanic take it for a cruise for a good 20 mins on the highway..doesn't make a peep drives great! so i'm like maybe it was a fluke so i drive all the way to work (about 30 min drive from dealership) everything is just fine. get off work at 7, start heading home, about 8 minutes from my house said problem arises again, this time way worse..now it's clunking REAL BAD, i slowed down to idle speed and whenever i tapped the gas it would do it. I stuck my head out to look at the wheel, and everytime it clunked the wheels would jerk. i pull over turn truck off look underneath, didn't see any leaks or visual problems. So I sit there about 5 minutes turn it back on and drive home with no problem at all..Then today it did it twice, but each time all i had to do was park turn off the truck then turn it right back on and it's fine...does anyone know what it could be? I'm taking it back to ford tuesday, but if it doesn't do it for them when they "test drive" it, i'd like to be able to maybe throw out some suggestions as to what it might be..because when it doesn't do it, it drives great..
