Ok first position yourself in front of the differential. It's to the upper right of the driveshaft behind a little flange thing. I just changed mine yesterday actually.

Thanks alot.I am just so used them being on the back side. What tool did you use to take plug out? Thanks for the reply.

I'm not a big tool guy and I don't know if this is right but I used a ratchet with a short extension. No socket though because it's a square hole.

thanks for your help, hope to return favor some time. Thanks again 88vert

Can you feel the difference after changing a dirty differential oil? I had mine changed during last oil change..but didn't notice a thing.

No you won't feel the difference unless you switch to synthetic diff oil, some say you get better gas mileage because the syn oil is less restrictive. It also never needs to be changed again after that.

Unless you are brain damaged like me and go play in the mud BEFORE you re-route your vent tubes :fire: !!

Yeah that's another thing, good point Jeff!

Stick a smaller rubber tube into your existing vent tube and run it up along the left side frame rail up into the engine compartment and duct tape it down. Voila, you have just extended your breather tube for your rear axle! (3 more vent tubes to go)
