My rear passenger doors both stopped opening about a month apart. You can only open them from the outside. What would cause this to happen and how do you resolve this issue?

How long have you owned the vehicle?

..There is a child safety lever..If you open the door and look on the door itself, you will see the lever and the info on how to lock and unlock..;)

Mine have the same symptoms as your's.

The handles are made from cheap plastic and they break easy. The interior door handle often needs replaced to fix the problem.

yeah back when they first went out I checked the child safety lock and that wasnt the prob. I really hate it too cause alot ot times I am just dropping a kid off or something and have to get out to open their door. They are teens and already think they are to be served, I dont want to add to that mentality any

If the child safety lockouts are not the issue, it is the inner handles. I had to replace both innser door handles on my truck for the same issue. If you look at them, they probably look "half sprung" out as well...

...Child locks, you may be surprised how often that is the answer,lol..and yes, it more than likely is the plastic piece on your handle...

If it's not the outside handles that's the problem, it could be the latch mechanism. On my rear door a small spring inside the latch broke, causing the interior handle and the power lock on that door to stop working, but the outside handle worked fine.

What were you able to do? My driver's side door won't work either. Ever since I bought the truck we've called it the safety seat. But the lever was never moved. What I was told by the guy who installed my new alarm was that the screw/bolt/hole? that is right below the lever is missing. On the other side it's there but not on this one. I have no idea what this thing is. Any help??

I was able to continue to look like my kids chaufer and get out and open the doors from the outside for them. It so sucks!

I have had this issue for a few years now. I tell all my friends I'm an undercover cop so there trapped in the back seat. I have just dealt with the issue, but if I can simply replace the inner door handle to fix this it would be great. Anyone know where I can buy some?
