Hi,

This started happening last week. After a 15 minute drive at 55-60 mph, my driver side rear wheel is way too hot to touch. I can smell brakes. Both left and right sides have 1-2 year old rebuild calipers with new rotors and pads. Right side is fine, only the left side is hot. I do not think it's the caliper, since it has less than 10K on it. Is there a way to test for sure? What else can it be?

Thanks

Parking brake not releasing?

How do I check for that? I think it's releasing, but it does not hurt to double check.

Is there a parking brake on both sides, or, driver side only?

Both.......

Parking brake shoes and/or caliper slide pin/bolt or caliper pistons sticking?
I seem to remember hearing several stories of the brake shoe material separating from the shoe's backing plate on the 2nd gen's causing constant dragging of the brakes.

Could also be a rubber brake line failure. With the brakes off, open the bleeder valve. If fluid squirts out under pressure that would indicate that the rubber brake line is failing internally.

It was a caliper problem. I swapped it for a new one and problem solved.
Thanks
