royal purple max gear

ok thanks but what do u guys use to seal the rear end what type of rtv?

I use a regular gasket....I never had the greatest luck with rtv.

I bought a pump at Sears that holds 3.5 quarts and now I just suck the old fluid out, makes things much easier. (Especially for the front axle)

I never use a conventional gasket on the differential cover; I use PERMATEX® ULTRA BLUE® No Leak RTV Silicone Gasket Maker . Never had any problems.

why would you change the fluid though? Just to be cautious or is it necessary under certain circumstances? I mean, doesn't the manual say it doesn't need to be changed?

As A streeter, I changed mine to syn for possible better MPGs and perf gains, am sure Al has the same or similar reasons for doing so.
Offraoders that do alot of water crossings change becaust it can get contaminated with water

On my 1993, I used Mobil 1 75W-90.

im just changing it to syn to get metter mpg
