We don't have rear fog lights in the USA, so, we are probably not going to be of much help to you.

Yes Howard , it all works in the cab , fitted a test light to the fog light switch , switch switches the light on and off , fog light warning light is on the dash .
Need to check to see if there is live at the wire at the back end , may be just a bad conection , or cut wire !

Handbook is U/S , I thought it may be the relay , but as the test light worked from the switch , I am thinking it may be ok , but then there is 3 wires at the back of the switch , 1 may go to a relay then on to the back fog light , my test lamp may have bypassed the fault !

Maybe you can compare the relay layout in the handbook with the car. As they do not have rear fogs in the US then any relay you have that is not in the book may be it.

Wire Diagram would be handy , if any one has one for a 2004 uk spec ranger
I do have the Haynes 36071 manual but that covers usa spec !!

Found the prob , it was the lamp unit , my test lamp worked off the loom , no probs .
Had the lamp unit on the bench to sort the bent bracket out , stuck a new bulb in it and it worked fine , any way new lamp on order old one on the bin !
