rear hatch

have a problem with the rear hatch on my x
i have electric lock on it when i lock the truck everything but the hatch locks when i unlock it i cant even open the hatch it seams the handle wont engage (u pull it but just like butter)
pse help on this its been going on for about 2 months now.

Sounds like you need to take the rear panel off and inspect the mechanism. You may have a loose cable or lever. Good luck!

Try pushing in on the handle pretty hard while turning.....I have had to do this on mine for quite some time now.

I think 98+ have the seperate button for the glass, and a pull handle for the gate, not the 2 way turn handle on ours

yeah ur right mine has the 2 button combo
the button for the window is realy hard to press
and the other doesnt look period.
i was thinking maybe the actuator or the rod?
