Rear inside door handle

My son opened up the rear door to get out and now the handle sticks out and does not go back in. The door opens and closes fine from the outside, just not on the inside. What do I need to look for? Thanks

lol, I just finally replaced my door handle after about 2 years of that problem. Next up is the arm rest on the back passenger door.
