I HAVE A 91' EXPLORER SPORT WITH A 4" SUPERLIFT SUSPENSION KIT.
-LEAF SPRING MODIFICATION?
-LONGER SKACKLES?
-SPRING OVER WITH ORIGANL SPRINGS?

ANY SUGESTION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

BIG DOG,

I have a 91 XLT with a 4" Superlift which includes their rear springs. I have the same problem that you do. Mine has been that way since it was installed in April 99. In July Superlift sent me another set of rear springs and they were installed. They helped a little but still was 1.5" lower in the rear than in the front.

This appears to be a flaw in the Superlift rear 4" springs. I have seen 3 other people having the same problem on this website, the latest was yesterday from jb<esphoto@tl.infi.net>.

My solution is to replace the whole 4" Superlift kit with the 5.5" Superlift kit, which re-uses my original rear springs in a spring over configuration. I have gotten Superlift to agree to this and they are shipping the parts. It is still up in the air if they will reimburse me for the labor to have it done.

So it is not just you having the problem with the Superlift 4" kit. Anyone else with the same problem should come forward. Superlift should make some sort of recall, although you know they won't.

I would contact Superlift and relay all this information to them. I talked to Devon on the tech line. Another guy I talked to was Marty but he was not as helpful as Devon. They should stand behind their product.

Hope you get everything straightened out.

Don at Superlift is sending me new rear springs also. I too have been thinking about just doing a springover with my old rear springs, but I don't want it to be too high. I wonder if they've sagged an inch?
