I need a new regulator for the drivers side rear window. Ive looked on ebay and called a few places and cant find an aftermarket one. One place told me that this is not made aftermarket.. can this be true?

I also looked on eBay, even asked a seller there. So you need to buy genuine ford replacement part.

If you look at the online catalog from one of the sponsors (dealer), you'll see that the price is not that expensive. There seems to be however a core charge, which may not pay for return shipping.

That is a common problem with this year range of vehicle. One day I spent some time at autozone and just randomly asked for stuff. Not a lot available. There's supposed to be a law that says aftermarket has to get a crack at making stuff after so many years I am told, but it doesn't seem to be enforced on this particular vehicle.

BTW - I'm sure you have, but make certain that the regulator is at fault. There's been more than two - three people on here thought the same thing and it wound up being an intermittent short in the door gap harness.

It's not aftermarket but by far cheaper one I found.

Try this I just replace my rear right one. It comes with the motor which makes it a little easier to replace. $84 with the core return. I did the work myself. The dealer wanted $400 plus http://www.tascafordparts.com//index.do

thanks for the input.. how would i tell if it is an intermittent short? The window is completely inop and will sag down as I drive. I can put my hands on the glass and move it up and down with ease.
