rear lift gate won't lock

yeah my rear lift gate wont lock with all the other doors is this a common issue and what the hell do i do to fix this one i can ask my dad as he works in a body shop but instead of bugging him first i thought id come on here and see if i can find answers see if i can fix it

I would check the wiring in the boot at the top of the lift gate. Then listen to the latch with the gate open to see if you can hear the lock motor engage. If you can't hear it, or it sounds funny you've found your problem. I haven't heard of this happening to anyone else so I don't think it's a common problem.

i just found out i can lock it manually at least, knew there had to be a way i just got this thing 3 weeks ago and still learning stuff about it if i need to use it ill just open the window then unlock it manually ill tear it apart sometime when i have time i dont hear anything working weird

You should take an hour or so and go over the whole truck just to get acquainted with everything.

Then spend 24 hours or so on here getting acquainted with EVERYTHING ELSE....
