Rear liftgate lock won't lock

I already did a search and found nothing.
I have a 4 door 94 XLT.
All 4 doors lock except for the rear liftgate.
What do I need to do to fix this?

i am having problems with mine - on mine it's cause the drivers side latch spring or something like that isn't triggering.....i found one at the wreckers to replace it with and man it seems like a major pain in the butt to get off and replace.....at the dealer the cost is aprox $60 cdn.

removed the rear lift gate cover and lubricate all the linkage rods inside.

could also be the lock actuator. When i bought my 95 xlt, the liftgate in the back couldnt open nor did it lock. I removed the inner trim and lubricated everything with some WD-40 then held the metal rod going from the lock to the actuator and jimmied it a little up and down. Everything started working after that.
