I already have a pretty nice sub in the back of my explorer, but in a week or so, I am getting my hands on a JL 10W7. The back liftgate, the plastic inside already rattles a little, and its going to get a lot worse soon. I was wondering how easy it is to take that off and apply some more damping material and expanding foam so the plastic doesn't rattle. I already have two layers of Dynamat throughout my car, just need to stop this plastic inside from rattling. If I can take it off and put it back on myself, I am going to do it before I even get the new sub. Thanks for any help.

Yes, Take the rear plastic pannels off and put at least one layer of Dynamat and then get some of the spray and spray the back of the pannels too. Then use the spray like a glue behind the box and all the pannels to hold everything together with less to no rattles. I hope that helps!

So does the back snap off easily? I just don't want to damage anything while I do this. Do I need any tools? I don't have a heat gun, so I guess I will pick up some dynamat extreme and some expanding foam. Thanks for your help.

Wow, thanks for that help. I guess I won't see what I am really getting into till I do it. I am going to pcik up a sheet of B-Quiet Extreme, plus I need to find a good spray that I can pretty much coat anything that is rattling after I put down the damping material. What is a good product that is cheap and easy to find? Hopefully I will be able to do this all this weekend or the next. Thanks for the help

What does that liquid FatMat stuff look like? Does it look identical to a bedliner spray, or is it thicker & more foam-like? Also, could you use a squirt-bottle type sprayer to put it on?

Thanks. I am getting the mtx thunderform and figured I would FatMat everything while I had the panel off.
