2006 Ford Explorer XLT
Hi, First post on this site, I have a 2006 Ford Explorer V6 4Ltr XLT and I’m living in Canada, I am moving to Europe next year and want to take it with me! However I need to get rear light covers with the amber colour to comply with European regs. I can’t find them anywhere in North America as they are just red and white here. Can anyone please advise me where I can possibly purchase them and also is it easy to change over from North American to European? Basically is there a gap for the amber light already in place! Thanks in advance for any help.

I can give you an a ford oem cat. number if you wish..in general you will find european tail lights in Russia,Israel and i believe Japan too.

Dont forget to replace pigtails too..

just like bazz270 said you will have to order doubt you will find them here. Only other thing you can do is see if the ones off a b series truck or somthing has the same body for the light with the cover you need. Example i took my 94 ranger lights out and replaced them with i think it was a 01s lights becasue it did not have the amber in it. All i have to do was turn them uoside down and was a perfect fit like oem

By the way..European market X "as build" file slighty different from American one...i mean GEM send another signal in same harness (for example european rear fog light harness is the same for american stop light signal)

Hi Bazz270, If you can send that would be appreciated, I know there will be some rewiring to do to achieve this, don't think it will be a big job just a little messing about and maybe alot of trial an error.

Thanks for advice, will be on the look out for some covers that might fit, if this works it will save me money and time!!!

Yup! Literally just look while you drive you might spot something random and have the light bulb pop on haha Good luck!

Im sorry buy today ive checked with local Israeli Ford Dealer warehouse and ..european tail light in Israel replaced by standard american one(since DOT Sae and European standards are both allowed here) and they cant see the old one catalogue number...

Bazz270 really appreciate the extra mile, shame it did not come up trumps. Will keep looking!

No i need them to fit and operate correctly, i have seen them on exports from Japan in the UK for instance! They must be somewhere!!

HEY! check the mazda version of the X the navajo i think its called see if those will work, it is a aussie truck i think or any of the b series mazdas

i typed into a search 06 sport track rear tail lights with amber blinker and at carid.com it pulled up the red and white like you have as well as red white and amber from a 06 ranger and it look like what i siad would work to flip them upside down and they would fit right in there! look for yourself and see might work for you.
