I am sure this has been asked a 1000+ times and I apologize for asking again.

Today I am feeling this vibration in the seat of my pants and I hear/feel it in my ears. Weird? Coming from the rear when over 30+ mph. I let off the gas and it goes away. I have been hearing noise from the back but just thought it was bearings. I was planning on replacing them. But what I am feeling today is different. I disconnected that auto 4wd device on the transfer case recently because it was acting up a month ago. Just didn't have the cash to fix anything right now.

Please advise. Thx....

Been blasting some 80's butt rock recently? Would explain the weird sensation in both places.
If not, then it sounds like the noise that most rear differentials make on these vehicles.

Actually yes but it doesn't feel like base.

Is it a whining sound? Or is it really vibration. If it is whining it is common on 02-05 Ford Explorers. TSB released a guide for repairing this axle whine kit. Not sure if we have the same issue (I don't feel any vibration)

But I'm already looking where to order that axle whine repair kit for my D4 Axle (part number 5L3Z4209C)

I don't hear a whine more like a grumbling/rumbling. I am gonna jack it up today. What should I look for?

I'm no expert really so I can just type here what Haynes Manual says (I though we have the same problem initially)

If vibration decreases or eliminated when the trans is in a different gear at the same engine speed
1. Bent or dented driveshaft
2. Undercoating or built-up dirt etc on the driveshaft.
3. Worn universal joint bearings
4. Driveshaft and/or companion flange out of balance.

*If vibration occurs at the same engine speed regardless of which gear the trans is in, the driveshaft is not at fault.

I'll probably investigate the driveshaft...This kind of problem happened with my merc w202.
Hope this helps.

Wheel alignment was also checked since it can also cause the same symptoms, that's what forums say about vibrate at particular speeds. But mine disappeared after the driveshaft was fixed by a merc mechanic.

The passenger rear wheel bearing has play. It's bad... Gonna check cv and universal joints.

Where is the best place to buy a rear passenger side upper control arm and drag link? The dust boots were ripped. Can't believe I can't just replace dust boots. My old Chevy I can.... I am getting prices of $200+ locally and $100+ online.
