Rear Tailgate

Hey all I have a 1996 Explorer. Overall body wise it's in great shape except for the rear tailgate. I am looking for some websites of companies that sell the whole tailgate. I'm near Columbus, Ohio and am willing to make the drive for a decent replacement. Any help is great. Thanks.

I have a question along the same lines but I am just wondering if the rear door from my 96 with the twist style release can be changed for one from a 98 or 99. Thanks for any help.

You can- but if you do, there will be more than just the hatch to change... The whole rear end is different from bumper to side windows, etc...

Thanks I appreciate it. I just like the look of the newer ones, much cleaner without that handle sticking out.

The only difference is the tail lights. The 96 bumper is only different due to the fact the license plate mounts in it where the 98-01 it's on the gate.
