hello there, newbie scott back again. just wanted to let all know about some killer trails off the S-22 in thermal california. stayed off crossover trail this weekend and the explorer went everywhere. was surprised with the trails it went through, and without even leaving 2wd. fun out there, even though my u-bolt nuts unscrewed on one side and my leaf springs were about to completely seperate from the axle. luckily my group had a few tools. the u-bolt was still on the axle but the nuts were gone...

if this ever happens to anyone while in the middle of nowhere, on some crazy trail, im here to tell you that it is fixable. you will need a nice socket set, so always carry one...

step one: place jack under bottom plate of leaf spring and jack up until set in place

step two: once snug to axle again, replace u-bolt
hint:find replacement(temporary) nuts for u-bolt on under side of rear bumper at frame support. note: u will need some one to stand on top of bumper or the bolt will slip.

step three:use "new" nuts to fasten u-bolt back on the axle and plate. I noticed that if u were to drop both u-bolts that u can completely remove ur bumper temporarily to use the nuts.

im glad that we were able to figure this out on the trail, and i wanted to share to anyone who may ever need it. thanks for reading and happy motoring

welcome

I'll see if I can get some pictures up soon. Thanks!

Does having the dual outlet on your exhaust make it sound any different than a single outlet pipe or is it just for looks?
