I am gonna be getting a system in the back of my x and I was thinking of limo tinting the back two side windows and I was just wondering how low % tint I could go without making it too hard to see out of the rear window when your looking in the mirror or just looking back there to back up... Give me your opinions please.

I have 10 percent for the same reasons:)

10% on rear or 10% on the side rear windows?

Extremely deep tint is ok to see out of during the day, so don't worry to much about that.Every thing just looks purpley :) It is at night when the fun starts. If a car is parked behind you with no lights on, it is almost impossible to see when backing up.

I sugest tinting the side windows with deep tint, and the back window about %5 less than that.

Think Limo tint for the back side windows would cost too much? Im gonna take my car to the tinting place on the weekend to check how much it would cost, what is legal for the front windows? 35% in PA?

10% on the rear windows:D

On my Blazer I had 5% on the three rear glass , and 35% on the front two. That is the legal limit in Maryland. It looked sweet. It really did not effect seeing out too much , actually every thing seemed clearer in fog. ( don't ask me how though )
It is also cool cause you don't have to flip your mirror at night when some noodle head has their high beams on behind you.

with 5% in the back is it like impossible to look into it from the outside?

Nearly , during the day the light comming in from the front windshield ( illegal to tint more than 4 inches below the roof line in Maryland ) illuminates enough to see silhuettes ( sp? ) , but at night you can see nothing.
Save your self some grief. IF you get pulled over ( by a cop ) turn ON yuor interrior light ( after you fasten your seat belt ) and roll your window down. Don't give him any reason what so ever to be edgy. Cops can be a pain some times but they have a tough , high risk job. Go easy on them they get enough b.s. as it is.

Thanks for the advice man :) sounds good

i have 5% on the back... to you can see out perfect as long as its day time well you can see out of the back perfect as long as you look straight out of it and not through a mirror.. seriously but at night... haha good luck trying to back out... you have to stick your head out the window unless its well lighted at night

I had the darkest tint legally possible when I was into car audio. Then one day, a state trooper pulled me, and informed me that the laws had changed. Weird thing was, I didn't remember getting that memo. But, without a warning, I got a $90 ticket. I was pissed at first, but then looked at it as a challenge. The challenge became stealthing my 1000w so that it was impossible to notice anything, but stock stereo, from any outside view.

When I was done, I could leave all windows down and doors unlocked in the worst parts of town without a worry.

If you are planning a new system, look to spend the extra time and effort (and money) to make it as invisible as possible. This is more of a deterant (sp?) than any tinting.

look at mine.... its all 20% with a mirror over it... and its worse than 5% when it comes to seeing in... but for seeing out... its prefectly fine...
