The rear wiper goes on and off by itself. Will go on for maybe 20 swipes then goes off. Will start and stop like this for no reason. The wiper switch does not have a delay setting as it's either on or off. Even disconnected the wiring plug from the dash switch and the wiper still goes on and off. Any ideas ? :(

Anybody out there ever have this problem.....is there an easy way to cut the power to the rear wiper motor without having to take the rear hatch cover off or pull a fuse. Can I cut a wire (which one) in the plug that connects to the dash switch ?

without knowing what is causing the problem, cutting or removing something to stop it won't be easy to figure out...

You can start eliminating things (and as a side bonus, when you figure out where the issue is, the wiper will stop moving)..

First is to see if the problem is the switch.. It is pretty easy to get to.. you just pull the face of the dash off and if I remember correctly, it is connected to a bracket on the front of the dash.. Just pull the wires (write down where they go) and to play it safe, put some electrical tape of the end of each wire so they won't short out.

IF the wiper problem goes away then you problably have a bad switch (easy to fix).. IF it doesn't go away then my best guess would be that the switch was switching ground to the motor and you have a short in that wire somewhere betweeen the switch and the motor.. When it grounds it is acting like you hit the switch.. That will be harder to trace and the only way to stop the motor from moving with that problem is to pull the connector off the wiper motor which means you pull the plastic off the back of the door.

Sounds good..........I was just looking for a quick fix rather than have to remove the plastic off the rear hatch, as I don't really care if the wiper works or not. Just annoying to hear it turning on and off (already removed the rear wiper arm.) Looking more and more like a grounding issue as when the wiring harness is unplugged from the dash switch, the wiper still goes on and off. Funny thing though is that it will do it consistently as if it is on a "wiper delay" which it doesn't have. Does it sitting still in the driveway or driving in exactly the same frequency ? Got me stumped !
