Hey everybody,

I have been fighting with mt 95 2door since I got it back on the road a few months back. The latest is the rear wiper motor (or so i thought). The old motor would click and make noise, and the washer fluid works on the rear. However, when I put the new motor in and hooked everything up I got absolutely nothing. This would suggest a wiring/fuse problem to me or simply a dud motor. Any suggestions?

Did you possibly get the wrong motor, there were changes from 94-98 models. I know that the 91-94 wiper style can't work with the 98-01 systems, and I think that the 95-97 is the same as 98-01's. I have a 97 motor in my 93 hatch using 99 wiring and control(GEM).

If you changed the part and it works differently, I would guess that the GEM is not related. Then I would look at fuses and relays, I have never had to troubleshoot the wipers so I can't point you to where those are at. Good luck,

I had that happen where the motor would just click but not move. Replacing the motor fixed the issue, tho.

Have you tried testing the connector with a DMM for power?

Keep in mind both the liftgate and rear glass hatch must be fully closed for the motor to operate.

Both the gate and glass were closed, I sort of assumed that the motor was shot given it would sort of work when it had a little nudge in the right direction. Could it be it isn't getting enough power? When the old motor would work, it seemed awful sluggish and underpowered. Either way, I'm heading back to autozone to try to get a different motor ordered and I'll be checking wires/relays this weekend.
