I have a 2001 Sport and have had the usual problems with the rear wiper. After reading the posts on this site I have replaced the wiper arm with the newer version of wiper arm and also replaced the motor with a new motor purchased from the dealer. This seemed to fix the problem for a couple of weeks but now the same old problem is back. Anyone else run into this after replacing the motor and arm? Is there anything else I should look at? I was wondering about any adjustment to the arm and motor that needs to be done when a new motor is installed, placement of the arm on the motor shaft type of issues. Any ideas or insights are most welcome. :(

Sprry to hear your problems.

I have had no problems whatsoever since replacing my rear wiper motor.

Good luck in resolving your proble, ........

What problem are you having? There are two: The first is a refusal of the motor to leave the park position, and the other is a problem with the wiper not staying in contact with the windshield. Which one are you referring to?

The refusal of the motor to leave the park position. Once I go back there and grab it and move it toward the window it will work fine and stays in good contact with the window. It will work then fine for a while but then after it sits for a while it refuses to leave park again. It's a pain to go around and grab the thing to get it started when it's raining cats and dogs. :(

Just a quick update, I went back to the dealer and explained the problem and they just scratched their heads. We swapped out the motor with another new one and are going to try that and see if the newer one works longer. It could be that it was just a bad or weak motor. I installed it and all seems to be good for now. I'll give it 2-3 weeks and see if it stays healthy. I'll post back to this thread if this one fails.
