'98 X rear wiper only works when standing on left foot, facing southeast, on Tuesday. Could it be the sensor on the door latch, or window lift. If so, where is it located? Would appreciate your help.
Thankx!

Rico,
I have the same prob, try turning it on and going around back and opening and slamming the hatch. As for a real fix, i haven't found one yet. Maybe someone will reply to your post.

i usually have to face north on my head....

just kidding.....mine works.....if thats what you wanna call it.........it misses about 90% of what its supposed to hit

Mo,
Mine missed too, so this morning i bent the hell out of the metal part of the blade, seems to work now.

I had the same problem, turned out to be a faulty motor
got it fixed under warrnty
Steve

i bend mine whenever im bored, still doesnt work

In 98 Ford redesigned the hatch and I guess the wiper engineer was sick that day. Very poor design. Mine misses about 90% of the window also and scratches the paint when it comes down. I never turn it on and it will cost about $300 to get it shaved. I will probably get it done very soon. Not only will it look better without the wiper there, I will also get the scratches that it caused fixed.... and I wont miss it for a second either. :)

Hehe, that has got to be the best description of a problem I've ever heard :D

Try moving/jiggling it after you turn it on (and after slamming the glass window and rear hatch.

FYI ,
my rear wiper also skipped most of the window and after changing the blades multiple times and trying different blade lengths, I finally bit it and bought a new arm assy from ford it cost $38 but it now actually works the way it should.
