i also bought the B&M tranny cooler for him to install. he got the motocraft double platinum plugs and all the other specified things i asked. mainly the list of 227.70. he answered all my questions and boy did i have 2 pages full. replaced the battery cables. this engine comes with 1yr. 12k warranty. i asked him about syntetic oils to put in he said for me to wait about 3k so the engine can get broken in. he sounds like he knows his stuff. thanks all for answering questions (search feature is bad ass on this site) tell me what you think of this deal. did i get a good job done or did i get taken to cleaners? i want to know if i can use this guy for later mods and if everything i listed was good. Tell me if something should of been done but isnt on list. i get my X back saturday and cant wait!!! thxs all!

Sounds like a reasonable deal. Prices are very close to industry standard and as long as he used name brand parts you shouldn't have any problem.

well when i came in with the summit racing catalog that i got with the tranny cooler that is what he said he orders all his parts from. funny thing is he told me i should of when for the 5.0 swap. my answer NO MONEY :(

Sounds good to me. I'm looking at a 4.0 long block from Ford and it's $2600 alone.

another issue.......whats new

i get a call today saying that the two guys who were putting in the engine go up to ford to get it retimed before they put it back in car. they find out a sensor is bad. they said it had something to do with the fuel injectors. the part is going to cost $300. im like im not paying for this. he was very nice about it and said he would pay for it. im not really worried about this much. im however curious though on what sensor this is and how come it is $300. anyone know? now im thinking he may of not done a good job of rebuilding engine. does this even have anything to do with the mechanical part or is this more electrical. thxs in advance.

Be carefull of Summit. Word is that the deals from there are alll remanufactured parts, not new.

That is what my mechanic friend told me.

ok what the sensor is for is the cam shaft that controls the sparking of engine. (i told him i had rough idle and my rpms would drop he said this would fix it) so if anyone knows if this could of caused that problem lmk. as far as the summit parts yes i know the summit brand parts they sell for way cheaper arent as good as say the brand name companys they advertise. you get what you pay for.

There are also alot of things that could cause that. I had that problem and it was my TPS.
