Hi, I bought a 2003 Explorer limited 4.6, and now I need to review the engine it. how is specification of Rebuild Kit for this engine? and where do I buy? the summit if I put this engine it says is application only until 1997.

What's wrong with it? Does it run? Smoke? Not run at all? Are you going to rebuild the engine or do you have someone that's going to do all the work? How much money can you spend? Also, where do you live?

I live in south America ( Paraguay ) the car have 200.000 miles... and here no have maintenance for this car...
well, I need buy for preventive damage... because if the car broken, I lost the car for 12 weeks.

You are saying the car runs fine, but you're not sure what maintenance has been done because of no records and you want to tune it up to prevent future problems? And you are asking what maintenance is required to be done/what's best to do?

Knowing that you are in Paraguay makes it easier to deal with our difficulty reading your posts. I am sure that anything I would try to write in Portugese or Spanish (which is it?) would be far, far worse.

What I think I understand is that you have a 2003 Explorer with the 4.6L V8 and are looking for the parts to rebuild the engine since it has 200,000 miles on it and you cannot be without a car.

I'm sure someone here can help. If I was going to rebuild one with that many miles I would most certainly redo the cam timing chains, sprokets, and tensioners, and consider replacing the oil pump and water pump.

exactly, I wonder how is the name of this engine explorer 2003 4.6 V8. The website of summitRacing I can pick the engine and when you put 4.6/281, He says that so serves the models made up to 97. So you need to know the specification of motor should I use to find the pistons and rings for this engine? Since this engine will appear in the websites search of parts. ? Sorry for my English ....

Something to think about; the cost to rebuild the motor/anything else and pay someone labor will not be worth it. I would just buy another Ex that's in better running condition. Something to think about
